| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 375, Local Government | |
| 13 | 13 | Code, is amended by adding Section 375.099 to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | Sec. 375.099. RESERVATION OF LAND FOR RECREATIONAL | |
| 15 | 15 | FACILITIES. (a) This section applies only to a district created on | |
| 16 | 16 | or after September 1, 2025. | |
| 17 | 17 | (b) As soon as practicable after the creation of the | |
| 18 | 18 | district, the board shall reserve a reasonable portion of the | |
| 19 | 19 | district's territory for recreational facilities as defined by | |
| 20 | 20 | Section 49.462, Water Code. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. Subchapter D, Chapter 54, Water Code, is amended | |
| 22 | 22 | by adding Section 54.244 to read as follows: | |
| 23 | 23 | Sec. 54.244. RESERVATION OF LAND FOR RECREATIONAL | |
| 24 | 24 | FACILITIES. (a) This section applies only to a district created on | |
| 25 | 25 | or after September 1, 2025. | |
| 26 | 26 | (b) As soon as practicable after the creation of the | |
| 27 | 27 | district, the board shall reserve a reasonable portion of the | |
| 28 | 28 | district's territory for recreational facilities as defined by | |
| 29 | 29 | Section 49.462. | |
| 30 | 30 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
