11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 552, Government Code, is |
---|
13 | 13 | | amended by adding Section 552.164 to read as follows: |

14 | 14 | | Sec. 552.164. EXCEPTION: CONFIDENTIALITY OF INFORMATION |
---|
15 | 15 | | REGARDING FRAUD DETECTION AND DETERRENCE MEASURES. Information in |
---|
16 | 16 | | the custody of a governmental body that relates to fraud detection |
---|
17 | 17 | | and deterrence measures is confidential and excepted from the |
---|
18 | 18 | | requirements of Section 552.021. For purposes of this section, |
---|
19 | 19 | | fraud detection information includes risk assessments, reports, |
---|
20 | 20 | | data, protocols, technology specifications, manuals, instructions, |
---|
21 | 21 | | investigative materials, crossmatches, mental impressions, and |
---|
22 | 22 | | communications that may reveal the methods or means by which a |
---|
23 | 23 | | governmental body prevents, investigates, or evaluates fraud. |

24 | 24 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
