| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 264.101(a-2), Family Code, is amended to | |
| 12 | 12 | read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | (a-2) The department shall continue to pay the cost of | |
| 14 | 14 | foster care under: | |
| 15 | 15 | (1) Subsection (a-1)(1) until the last day of the | |
| 16 | 16 | month in which the child attains the age of 22; | |
| 17 | 17 | (2) Subsection (a-1)(2) until the earlier of: | |
| 18 | 18 | (A) the date the child graduates with a | |
| 19 | 19 | bachelor's degree; or | |
| 20 | 20 | (B) the last day of the month in which the child | |
| 21 | 21 | attains the age of 24; and | |
| 22 | 22 | (3) [(2)] Subsections (a-1)(3)-(5) [(a-1)(2)-(5)] | |
| 23 | 23 | until the last day of the month the child attains the age of 21. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
