| 13 | 13 | SECTION 1. Chapter 2051, Government Code, is amended by | |
| 14 | 14 | adding Subchapter G to read as follows: | |
| 15 | 15 | SUBCHAPTER G. FORMS ADOPTED OR USED BY STATE AGENCIES | |
| 16 | 16 | Sec. 2051.251. COLLECTION OF INFORMATION REGARDING RACE OR | |
| 17 | 17 | ETHNICITY PROHIBITED. (a) In this section, "state agency" has the | |
| 18 | 18 | meaning assigned by Section 2062.001. | |
| 19 | 19 | (b) A state agency may not adopt or use a form that requests | |
| 20 | 20 | or requires an individual to provide the individual's race or | |
| 21 | 21 | ethnicity. | |
| 22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
