46 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
57 AN ACT
68 relating to the Major Events Reimbursement Program and the Events
79 Trust Fund.
810 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
911 SECTION 1. Section 478.0107, Government Code, is amended by
1012 to read as follows:
1113 (a) Not later than the 10th month after the last day of an
1214 event eligible for disbursements from the fund, using existing
1315 resources, the [office] local organizing committee, endorsing
1416 municipality, or endorsing county shall complete a study in the
1517 market area of the event on the measurable economic impact directly
1618 attributable to the preparation for and presentation of the event.
1719 (b) The [office] local organizing committee, endorsing
1820 municipality, or endorsing county shall post on the [office's] its
1921 Internet website:
2022 (1) the results of the study conducted under
2123 Subsection (a), including any source documentation or other
2224 information on which the [office] local organizing committee,
2325 endorsing municipality, or endorsing county relied for the study;
2426 (2) the incremental increase in tax receipts for the
2527 event determined under Section 478.0102 and any source
2628 documentation or information described by Section 478.0251 on which
2729 the office relied to determine that increase;
2830 (3) the documentation described by Section
2931 478.0101(3); and
3032 (4) documentation verifying that:
3133 (A) a request submitted under Section 478.0101 is
3234 complete and certified as complete by the office;
3335 (B) the office considered the information
3436 submitted by a local organizing committee, endorsing municipality,
3537 or endorsing county to determine the incremental increase in tax
3638 receipts under Section 478.0102 as required by Section 478.0102(b);
3739 and
3840 (C) each deadline established under this chapter
3941 was met.
4042 SECTION 2. The following provision is repealed:
4143 (1) Section 480.152, Government Code.
4244 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
