| 8 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 241, Health and Safety |

| 10 | 12 | | Code, is amended by adding Section 241.013 to read as follows: |

| 11 | 13 | | Sec. 241.013. AUTOLOGOUS AND DIRECT BLOOD DONATIONS. A |
|---|
| 12 | 14 | | hospital licensed under this chapter shall allow an individual on |
|---|
| 13 | 15 | | whom a medical procedure is to be performed to provide an autologous |
|---|
| 14 | 16 | | or direct blood donation for the procedure if, not less than 72 |
|---|
| 15 | 17 | | hours before the scheduled time for the procedure, the individual: |
|---|
| 16 | 18 | | (1) notifies the hospital of the intention to provide |
|---|
| 17 | 19 | | an autologous or direct blood donation for the procedure; and |
|---|
| 18 | 20 | | (2) for a direct blood donation, provides the hospital |
|---|
| 19 | 21 | | a list of eligible blood donors. |
|---|
| 20 | 22 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
