77 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
88 AN ACT
99 relating to certain duties of the Texas Workforce Commission with
1010 respect to child-care resources.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 302, Labor Code, is
1313 amended by adding Section 302.0064 to read as follows:
1414 Sec. 302.0064. CHILD-CARE RESOURCES FOR EMPLOYERS. (a)
1515 The commission shall maintain in a prominent location on its
1616 Internet website a link to a web page consisting of comprehensive
1717 and current information to help employers assist employees who are
1818 parents with accessing child care, including information on:
1919 (1) child-care assistance;
2020 (2) best practices for assisting employees who are
2121 parents;
2222 (3) any available state and federal tax credits;
2323 (4) dependent care savings accounts;
2424 (5) any available free tools or templates;
2525 (6) policies and benefits an employer may adopt to
2626 assist employees in accessing child care; and
2727 (7) other resources related to child care that the
2828 commission considers relevant.
2929 (b) The web page described by Subsection (a) must include an
3030 explanation that:
3131 (1) the commission does not and may not provide legal
3232 advice; and
3333 (2) an employer is not required to implement any
3434 employment policy or benefit included on the web page unless
3535 required by other law.
3636 SECTION 2. Not later than February 1, 2026, the Texas
3737 Workforce Commission shall post on its Internet website the
3838 information required by Section 302.0064, Labor Code, as added by
3939 this Act.
4040 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
