46 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
57 AN ACT
68 relating to the route designation for the issuance of a permit for
79 the movement of oversize and overweight vehicles that serve a
810 deepwater seaport on the U.S.-Mexico Border.
911 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1012 SECTION 1. Section 623.219(a), Transportation Code, is
1113 amended to read as follows:
1214 (a) For a permit issued by a port authority located in a
1315 county that borders the United Mexican States, the commission
1416 shall, with the consent of the port authority, designate the most
1517 direct route [from]:
1618 (1) between the Gateway International Bridge or the
1719 Veterans International Bridge at Los Tomates to the entrance of the
1820 Port of Brownsville using State Highways 48 and 4 or United States
1921 Highways 77 and 83 or using United States Highway 77 and United
2022 States Highway 83, East Loop Corridor, and State Highway 4; and
2123 (2) between the Free Trade International Bridge and
2224 [to]:
2325 (A) the entrance of the Port of Brownsville using
2426 Farm-to-Market Road 509, United States Highways 77 and 83,
2527 Farm-to-Market Road 511, State Highway 550, and East Loop (State
2628 Highway 32)
2729 SECTION 2. This bill is applicable only to the designated
2830 routes for the Port of Brownsville.
2931 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
