9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 26.005, Education Code, is amended by | |
11 | 11 | adding Subsection (b) to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 26.005. ACCESS TO STATE ASSESSMENTS. (a) Except as | |
13 | 13 | provided by Section 39.023(e), a parent is entitled to access to a | |
14 | 14 | copy of each state assessment instrument administered under Section | |
15 | 15 | 39.023 to the parent's child. | |
16 | 16 | (b) the agency shall make available to a parent, the results | |
17 | 17 | of their child's state assessment tests by no more than one click | |
18 | 18 | from a website maintained by the agency. Student identifying | |
19 | 19 | information needed to access assessment information must meet | |
20 | 20 | agency security protocols, be unique to the student, and be in | |
21 | 21 | control of a parent or guardian without the need to secure | |
22 | 22 | additional information from any third party. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
