| 9 | 9 | | relating to the transfer of certain state property from the Texas |

| 10 | 10 | | Department of Transportation to the University of Houston. |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. (a) Not later than December 31, 2025, the Texas |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Department of Transportation shall donate and transfer to the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | University of Houston the real property described by Subsection (e) |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | of this section. |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (b) The University of Houston may use the property |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | transferred under this Act only for a purpose that benefits the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | public interest of the state. If the University of Houston uses the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | property for any purpose other than a purpose described by this |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | subsection, ownership of the property automatically reverts to the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Texas Department of Transportation. |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (c) The Texas Department of Transportation shall transfer |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | the property by an appropriate instrument of transfer. The |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | instrument of transfer must: |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (1) provide that: |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | (A) the University of Houston may use the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | property only for a purpose that benefits the public interest of the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | state; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | (B) ownership of the property will automatically |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | revert to the Texas Department of Transportation if the University |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | of Houston uses the property for any purpose other than a purpose |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | described by Paragraph (A) of this subdivision; and |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | (2) describe the property to be transferred by metes |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | and bounds. |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | (d) The Texas Department of Transportation shall retain |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | custody of the instrument of transfer after the instrument of |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | transfer is filed in the real property records of Fort Bend County. |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | (e) The real property referred to in this section consists |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | of the following six tracts of land: |
