| 11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 12.1058, Education Code, is amended by | |
| 13 | 13 | adding Subsection (n) to read as follows: | |
| 14 | 14 | (n) An open-enrollment charter school and an officer, | |
| 15 | 15 | employee, or member of the governing body of an open-enrollment | |
| 16 | 16 | charter school are subject to Section 660.093, Government Code, as | |
| 17 | 17 | though the school were a state agency and the officer, employee, or | |
| 18 | 18 | member were a state employee, regardless of whether state funds are | |
| 19 | 19 | used to pay or reimburse for the travel of the officer, employee, or | |
| 20 | 20 | member. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
