11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 411, Government Code, is | |
13 | 13 | amended by adding Section 411.02091 to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | Sec. 411.02091. ADVANCED X-RAY INSPECTION TECHNOLOGY | |
15 | 15 | SYSTEMS AT INTERNATIONAL BORDER CROSSINGS. (a) The department, in | |
16 | 16 | collaboration with the Texas Department of Transportation, shall | |
17 | 17 | install advanced x-ray inspection technology systems that are | |
18 | 18 | non-intrusive at Texas-Mexico international border crossings to | |
19 | 19 | inspect commercial motor vehicles, as determined by the Texas | |
20 | 20 | Department of Transportation, in order to ensure safe, efficient, | |
21 | 21 | and streamlined commercial motor vehicle connectivity. | |
22 | 22 | (b) The department shall coordinate the installation of | |
23 | 23 | inspection technology systems described by Subsection (a) with the | |
24 | 24 | installation of similar technology systems by federal agencies as | |
25 | 25 | necessary to implement this section. | |
26 | 26 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
