| 10 | 10 | | the Texas Judicial Council. |

| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 71, Government Code, is |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | amended by adding Section 71.0354 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Sec. 71.0354. PROSECUTING ATTORNEY INFORMATION. (a) In |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | this section, "prosecuting attorney" means a county attorney, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | district attorney, or criminal district attorney representing this |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | state in criminal matters before the district or other courts of the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | county. |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (b) Each prosecuting attorney shall report in the form and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | manner prescribed by the council information on: |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (1) the categories of criminal offenses prosecuted by |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | the prosecuting attorney and the number of criminal cases in each |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | category; |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (2) the number of personnel employed by the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | prosecuting attorney and whether that number is sufficient to |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | support the prosecutor's caseload; |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | (3) the number of times a defendant was released as |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | provided by Article 17.151, Code of Criminal Procedure; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | (4) the number of electronic notices submitted by the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | prosecuting attorney to a court as required by Article |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 17.027(a)(2), Code of Criminal Procedure. |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | (c) In prescribing the information to be submitted and form |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | and manner of submission of the information under Subsection (b), |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | the council shall consult with: |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | (1) the Texas District and County Attorneys |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | Association; and |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | (2) other interested persons. |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | SECTION 2. Not later than September 1, 2026, the Texas |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | Judicial Council shall prescribe the information, and form and |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | manner of submission, a prosecuting attorney in this state is |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | required to report under Section 71.0354, Government Code, as added |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | by this Act. |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
