11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 16.092, Election Code, is amended to | |
13 | 13 | read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | Sec. 16.092. SWORN STATEMENT REQUIRED. A voter desiring to | |
15 | 15 | challenge a registration must file with the registrar a sworn | |
16 | 16 | statement of the grounds for the challenge that: | |
17 | 17 | (1) identifies the voter whose registration is being | |
18 | 18 | challenged; and | |
19 | 19 | (2) states a specific qualification for registration | |
20 | 20 | that the challenged voter has not met based on: | |
21 | 21 | (A) the personal knowledge of the voter desiring | |
22 | 22 | to challenge the registration; or | |
23 | 23 | (B) a fact not subject to reasonable dispute | |
24 | 24 | because the fact is generally known or can be determined from a | |
25 | 25 | reliable source. | |
26 | 26 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
