| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Section 4.003, Election Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | adding Subsection (c-1) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | (c-1) In addition to any other notice given for an election |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | under this section, notice of an election ordered by an authority, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | other than an authority described by Subsection (c), must be posted |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | on the Internet website of the authority not later than the 62nd day |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | before election day. |

| 19 | 19 | | SECTION 2. Section 4.004(b), Election Code, is amended to |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | read as follows: |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (b) The notice of a special election or the election of an |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | authority that holds nonpartisan elections must also state each |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | office to be filled or the proposition stating each measure to be |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | voted on. This subsection does not apply to an election on a |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | proposed constitutional amendment. |

| 26 | 26 | | SECTION 3. Section 4.008(a), Election Code, is amended to |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | read as follows: |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (a) Except as provided by Subsection (b), the governing body |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | of a political subdivision, other than a county, that orders an |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | election shall deliver notice of the election, including the |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | location of each polling place, to the county clerk and voter |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | registrar of each county in which the political subdivision is |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | located not later than the 75th [60th] day before election day. The |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | county clerk shall post notice of the election, including the |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | location of each polling place, on the county's Internet website, |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | if the county maintains a website, as provided by Section 4.003(b). |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | SECTION 4. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | an election ordered on or after the effective date of this Act. |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | SECTION 5. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
