11 | 11 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
12 | 12 | SECTION 1. Section 21.3521, Education Code, is amended by | |
13 | 13 | adding Subsection (f-1) to read as follows: | |
14 | 14 | (f-1) A classroom teacher may appeal to the commissioner if, | |
15 | 15 | based on the teacher's performance, the teacher believes that but | |
16 | 16 | for the school district's, open-enrollment charter school's, or | |
17 | 17 | agency's error the teacher would have earned a specific designation | |
18 | 18 | and the teacher: | |
19 | 19 | (1) fails to earn any designation; or | |
20 | 20 | (2) is issued a designation other than that | |
21 | 21 | designation. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
23 | 23 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
24 | 24 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
25 | 25 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
26 | 26 | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
