| 8 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Section 37.203(a)(6), Education Code, is |
|---|
| 10 | 12 | | amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 11 | 13 | | (6) the following members appointed by the governor |
|---|
| 12 | 14 | | with the advice and consent of the senate: |
|---|
| 13 | 15 | | (A) a juvenile court judge; |
|---|
| 14 | 16 | | (B) a member of a school district's board of |
|---|
| 15 | 17 | | trustees; |
|---|
| 16 | 18 | | (C) an administrator of a public primary school; |
|---|
| 17 | 19 | | (D) an administrator of a public secondary |
|---|
| 18 | 20 | | school; |
|---|
| 19 | 21 | | (E) a parent of a student enrolled in public |
|---|
| 20 | 22 | | primary or secondary school who is not an employee of a school |
|---|
| 21 | 23 | | district [member of the state parent-teacher association]; |
|---|
| 22 | 24 | | (F) a teacher from a public primary or secondary |
|---|
| 23 | 25 | | school; |
|---|
| 24 | 26 | | (G) a public school superintendent who is a |
|---|
| 25 | 27 | | member of the Texas Association of School Administrators; |
|---|
| 26 | 28 | | (H) a school district police officer or a peace |
|---|
| 27 | 29 | | officer whose primary duty consists of working in a public school; |
|---|
| 28 | 30 | | (I) a professional architect who is registered in |
|---|
| 29 | 31 | | this state and a member of the Texas Society of Architects; and |
|---|
| 30 | 32 | | (J) three members of the public. |
|---|
| 31 | 33 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 32 | 34 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 33 | 35 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 34 | 36 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 35 | 37 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
