| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 7, Education Code, is | |
| 12 | 12 | amended by adding Section 7.042 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 7.042. ANNUAL REPORT REGARDING PUBLIC SCHOOL CAMPUS | |
| 14 | 14 | CLOSURES. (a) Not later than January 31 of each year, the agency | |
| 15 | 15 | shall prepare and publish on the agency's publicly available | |
| 16 | 16 | Internet website an annual report regarding school district and | |
| 17 | 17 | open-enrollment charter school campus closures. The report must | |
| 18 | 18 | include, for the preceding calendar year, the number of campuses | |
| 19 | 19 | that have closed, disaggregated by the grade levels served by the | |
| 20 | 20 | campus, including elementary, middle, junior high, or high school. | |
| 21 | 21 | (b) The agency shall submit the report described by | |
| 22 | 22 | Subsection (a) to: | |
| 23 | 23 | (1) the governor; | |
| 24 | 24 | (2) the lieutenant governor; | |
| 25 | 25 | (3) the speaker of the house of representatives; and | |
| 26 | 26 | (4) each member of the legislature. | |
| 27 | 27 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
