| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Chapter 773, Health and Safety Code, is amended | |
| 12 | 12 | by adding the following section: | |
| 13 | 13 | SECTION 773.055 EXTENSION OF NON-CERTIFIED DRIVING | |
| 14 | 14 | WAIVERS:(a) Any existing state waivers or emergency orders that | |
| 15 | 15 | allow non-certified individuals to serve as drivers for emergency | |
| 16 | 16 | medical services operations in partnership with state-certified | |
| 17 | 17 | emergency medical technicians and paramedics shall continue | |
| 18 | 18 | without requirements of variance requests after initial approval. | |
| 19 | 19 | (b) Any state waivers or emergency orders that allow | |
| 20 | 20 | non-certified individuals to serve as drivers for emergency medical | |
| 21 | 21 | services operations in partnership with state-certified emergency | |
| 22 | 22 | medical technicians and paramedics approved after the effective | |
| 23 | 23 | date of this Act shall continue without requirements of variance | |
| 24 | 24 | requests. | |
| 25 | 25 | (c) The Texas Department of State Health Services may issue | |
| 26 | 26 | rules to comply with this Act to ensure that providers understand | |
| 27 | 27 | updated requirements with the certification. | |
| 28 | 28 | SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE: This Act takes effect September | |
| 29 | 29 | 1, 2025. |
