| 10 | 10 | | on the institution's sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | violence, and stalking policy. |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Section 51.282(c), Education Code, is amended to |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | read as follows: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (c) Each postsecondary educational institution shall |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | require each entering freshman or undergraduate transfer student to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | attend an orientation on the institution's sexual harassment, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking policy before or |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | during the first semester or term in which the student is enrolled |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | at the institution. The institution shall establish the format and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | content of the orientation. The orientation: |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (1) may be provided online; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (2) must include: |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (A) a video that states: |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (i) the names of the institution's Title IX |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | coordinators and deputy coordinators; |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | (ii) the location and contact information |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | of the institution's Title IX office; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | (iii) the services provided by the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | institution's Title IX office; and |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | (B) the statements described by Subsection |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | (a)(1)(E). |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | SECTION 2. Section 51.282(c), Education Code, as amended by |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | this Act, applies beginning with the 2025-2026 academic year. |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
