| 9 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Article 2A.002(a), Code of Criminal Procedure, |

| 11 | 13 | | is amended to read as follows: |

| 12 | 14 | | (a) The following criminal investigators of the United |

| 13 | 15 | | States are not peace officers but have the powers of arrest, search, |
|---|
| 14 | 16 | | and seizure under the laws of this state as to felony offenses only: |

| 56 | 58 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 57 | 59 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 58 | 60 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 59 | 61 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 60 | 62 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
