| 9 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Section 31.125, Election Code, is amended by |

| 11 | 13 | | adding Subsections (b-1) and (b-2) to read as follows: |

| 12 | 14 | | (b-1) Except as provided by Subsection (b-2), a county shall |
|---|
| 13 | 15 | | use the top-level domain ".gov" for an Internet website used to post |
|---|
| 14 | 16 | | election information as required by this code. |
|---|
| 15 | 17 | | (b-2) For purposes of Subsection (b-1), a county may use the |
|---|
| 16 | 18 | | top-level domain ".texas.gov" if: |
|---|
| 17 | 19 | | (1) ".gov" is unavailable; or |
|---|
| 18 | 20 | | (2) on September 1, 2025, the county is using |
|---|
| 19 | 21 | | ".texas.gov". |

| 20 | 22 | | SECTION 2. A county shall comply with the requirements of |

| 21 | 23 | | Sections 31.125(b-1) and (b-2), Election Code, as added by this |
|---|
| 22 | 24 | | Act, as soon as practicable after the effective date of this Act but |
|---|
| 23 | 25 | | not later than September 1, 2026. |

| 24 | 26 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
