77 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
88 AN ACT
99 relating to the applicability of lobbyist registration
1010 requirements to a person who provides legal services to a political
1111 subdivision.
1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Section 305.003, Government Code, is amended by
1414 adding Subsection (b-5) to read as follows:
1515 (b-5) This section does not require a person to register if
1616 the person has established an attorney-client relationship with a
1717 political subdivision to provide legal services and receives or is
1818 entitled to receive compensation, reimbursement, or expenses under
1919 an agreement under which the person is retained or employed by the
2020 political subdivision.
2121 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
