12 | 12 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
13 | 13 | SECTION 1. Section 305.003, Government Code, is amended by | |
14 | 14 | adding Subsection (b-5) to read as follows: | |
15 | 15 | (b-5) This section does not require a person to register if | |
16 | 16 | the person has established an attorney-client relationship with a | |
17 | 17 | political subdivision to provide legal services and receives or is | |
18 | 18 | entitled to receive compensation, reimbursement, or expenses under | |
19 | 19 | an agreement under which the person is retained or employed by the | |
20 | 20 | political subdivision. | |
21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
