| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 552, Government Code, is |

| 13 | 13 | | amended by adding Section 552.1178 to read as follows: |

| 14 | 14 | | Sec. 552.1178. CONFIDENTIALITY OF CERTAIN INFORMATION |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | MAINTAINED BY TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY. (a) In this section, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | "educator" has the meaning assigned by Section 5.001, Education |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Code. |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (b) Information maintained by the Texas Education Agency |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | that relates to the home address, home telephone number, personal |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | cell phone number, personal e-mail address, driver's license |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | number, emergency contact information, date of birth, or social |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | security number of an educator, or that reveals whether an educator |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | has family members, is confidential and excepted from the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | requirements of Section 552.021. |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
