89R24949 AMB-D By: Craddick H.C.R. No. 140 CONCURRENT RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Cody C. Campbell was elected chair of the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents on April 14, 2025; and WHEREAS, Mr. Campbell was appointed to the board of regents by Governor Greg Abbott in April 2021, and over the course of his tenure, he has also served as vice chair of its Finance & Investments Committee, as well as of the Carr Foundation Board of Trustees; and WHEREAS, Bringing to his position a wealth of knowledge and experience, Mr. Campbell previously served on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the Texas Tech University Rawls College of Business Advisory Council; moreover, he cofounded and is a board member of the Matador Club, and he further gives generously of his time and talents to the boards of a number of other worthy organizations, including the Texas Public Policy Foundation and All Saints' Episcopal School of Fort Worth; and WHEREAS, A fourth-generation Red Raider, Mr. Campbell holds bachelor's degrees in finance and economics and a master's degree in finance from Texas Tech, where he was a four-year letterman on the offensive line for the football team from 2001 to 2004, and he went on to spend two seasons in the National Football League with the Indianapolis Colts; currently, he is co-chief executive officer of Double Eagle Energy Holdings, a Fort Worth-based upstream exploration and production company that he helped to establish, and he also is the president and a board member of Double Eagle Charities; and WHEREAS, In taking on this new challenge, Cody Campbell has demonstrated a profound commitment to advancing the important goals of one of the largest systems of higher education in the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the 89th Legislature of the State of Texas hereby congratulate Cody C. Campbell on his election as chair of the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents and extend to him sincere best wishes for a successful tenure; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Campbell as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
