17 | 18 | | editor of the paper and guided it skillfully through today's |

18 | 19 | | rapidly evolving media environment; its print and online |

19 | 20 | | circulation reached an eight-year high under his leadership, with |

20 | 21 | | hundreds of thousands of visits to its mrt.com website every month; |

22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Doreen has been an ardent champion of Midland, |

23 | 24 | | raising awareness of its exceptional people, thriving business |

24 | 25 | | sector, and vibrant nonprofit and educational organizations; in |

25 | 26 | | recognition of his contributions, the mayor proclaimed |
---|
26 | 27 | | December 21, 2023, as Stewart Doreen Day; and |

27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Since retiring from the paper, Mr. Doreen has served |

28 | 29 | | as strategic communications officer for the City of Midland, and he |
---|
29 | 30 | | has brought a wealth of experience and deep knowledge to his |
---|
30 | 31 | | position; as he continues to take on the exciting challenges of his |
---|
31 | 32 | | new role, he may indeed reflect with pride on his many |

32 | 33 | | accomplishments to date; now, therefore, be it |
