| 9 | 9 | | downtown Denton into an immersive Halloween experience during the |

| 10 | 10 | | Thirty-One Days of Denton Halloween, celebrating the season with |

| 11 | 11 | | much-anticipated spooky events and activities at over fifteen |

| 12 | 12 | | different themed locations around the city; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The City of Denton turns into the premier |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | destination for Halloween enthusiasts across the state, turning |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | into a seasonal experience that brings together people of all ages. |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | As over 660,000 people were drawn to visit their historic downtown; |

| 17 | 17 | | and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, The Thirty-One Days of Denton Halloween evokes a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | sense of nostalgia, reminding people of cherished traditions such |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | as pumpkin carving, Halloween movie nights, a pumpkin drop |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Blocktober party, and interactive storytelling that have long been |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | a part of the holiday's rich history; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, By joining together for Thirty-One Days of Denton |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Halloween, the residents of the City of Denton and surrounding |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | communities have created a popular Halloween tradition that is |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | beloved by young and old alike, and this delightful month-long |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | event serves as an opportunity to showcase the city and uncover |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | their talented artists, seasonal treats offerings, unique sights, |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | and playful spirit of the season further enhancing the festive |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | atmosphere ,therefore, be it |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the 89th Legislature of the State of Texas |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | hereby designate City of Denton as the official Halloween Capital |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | of Texas; and, be it further |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That, in accordance with the provisions of Section |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 391.003(e), Government Code, this designation remain in effect |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | until the 10th anniversary of the date this resolution is finally |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | passed by the legislature. |
