67 CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
78 WHEREAS, The State of Texas and the State of Israel share a
89 deep and enduring friendship rooted in mutual values, economic
910 ties, and a commitment to democracy and security; and
1011 WHEREAS, Since the establishment of diplomatic relations
1112 between the United States and Israel in 1949, the bond between the
1213 two nations has grown stronger, and Texas has played a significant
1314 role in fostering economic, cultural, and strategic partnerships
1415 with Israel; and
1516 WHEREAS, Israel is a leader in technological innovation,
1617 cybersecurity, energy, agriculture, and water conservation, which
1718 are all areas that align closely with Texas' economic strengths;
1819 those shared interests help to foster collaborative opportunities
1920 for businesses, universities, and research institutions in both
2021 regions; and
2122 WHEREAS, Texas and Israel maintain a robust trade
2223 relationship, and Texas ranks among the top U.S. states for exports
2324 to Israel, contributing billions of dollars annually to the
2425 economies of both regions through trade in the technology, medical
2526 equipment, and defense industries; and
2627 WHEREAS, Texas and Israel have benefited immeasurably
2728 through their decades-long alliance, and the regions have
2829 demonstrated a steadfast commitment to promoting stability and
2930 prosperity; now, therefore, be it
3031 RESOLVED, That the 89th Legislature of the State of Texas
3132 hereby reaffirm the enduring bond between Texas and Israel and
3233 express its continued support for expanding economic, educational,
3334 and cultural ties between the two regions; and, be it further
3435 RESOLVED, That the Texas House of Representatives and Senate
3536 hereby:
3637 (a) express continuing support for the bilateral trade
3738 agreement between the United States and Israel; and
3839 (b) express support for a Texas Trade and Investment Office
3940 in Jerusalem, Israel, the eternal, undivided capital of the State
4041 of Israel, to be the center of trade and investment activities for
4142 Israel and countries that are a part of the Abraham Accords or have
4243 a signed peace treaty with Israel; and, be it further
4344 RESOLVED, That the Texas House of Representatives and Senate
4445 hereby recognize Israel for its contributions to global security,
4546 technological advancements, and humanitarian efforts, and reaffirm
4647 their commitment to deepening cooperation in areas of shared
4748 interest; and, be it further
4849 RESOLVED, That the Texas Secretary of State forward official
4950 copies of this resolution to the Governor of Texas, to the President
5051 of the United States, to the Israeli Ambassador to the United
5152 States, and to the Consul General of Israel to Texas as an
5253 expression of the sentiments of the Texas House of Representatives
5354 and Senate.
