9 | 9 | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 23, Article I, Texas Constitution, is | |

12 | 12 | Sec. 23. Every person [citizen] shall have the right to keep | |
13 | 13 | and bear arms in the lawful defence of himself or the State[; but | |
14 | 14 | the Legislature shall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of | |
15 | 15 | arms, with a view to prevent crime]. | |
16 | 16 | SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | |
17 | 17 | submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2025. | |
18 | 18 | The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | |
19 | 19 | proposition: "The constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right | |
20 | 20 | of every person to keep and bear arms." |
