| 10 | 10 | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Article I, Texas Constitution, is amended by | |
| 12 | 12 | adding Section 37 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 37. Each individual residing in this state has the | |
| 14 | 14 | right to personal reproductive autonomy, and this state may not | |
| 15 | 15 | restrict or prohibit the exercise of that right, including the | |
| 16 | 16 | right to: | |
| 17 | 17 | (1) obtain an abortion on or before 24 weeks | |
| 18 | 18 | post-fertilization; | |
| 19 | 19 | (2) obtain an abortion necessary to preserve the life | |
| 20 | 20 | or health of a pregnant individual who is more than 24 weeks | |
| 21 | 21 | post-fertilization, or in accordance with an exception provided by | |
| 22 | 22 | general law; and | |
| 23 | 23 | (3) obtain and use contraception. | |
| 24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | |
| 25 | 25 | submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2025. | |
| 26 | 26 | The ballot shall be printed to provide for voting for or against the | |
| 27 | 27 | proposition: "The constitutional amendment establishing an | |
| 28 | 28 | individual's right to personal reproductive autonomy." |
