10 | 10 | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Article III, Texas Constitution, is amended by | |
12 | 12 | adding Section 68 to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | Sec. 68. (a) The legislature by local law may create a | |
14 | 14 | regional mobility authority for the purposes of constructing, | |
15 | 15 | maintaining, and operating transportation projects in a region of | |
16 | 16 | this state. | |
17 | 17 | (b) The legislature may pass a local law described by | |
18 | 18 | Subsection (a) of this section without the local notice required | |
19 | 19 | for special or local laws. | |
20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | |
21 | 21 | submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2025. | |
22 | 22 | The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | |
23 | 23 | proposition: "The constitutional amendment to authorize the | |
24 | 24 | legislature to create a regional mobility authority by local law." |
