| 10 | 10 | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Article I, Texas Constitution, is amended by | |
| 12 | 12 | adding Section 37 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 37. The liberty of a parent to direct the upbringing of | |
| 14 | 14 | the parent's child is a fundamental right. This right includes the | |
| 15 | 15 | right to direct the care, custody, control, education, moral and | |
| 16 | 16 | religious training, and medical care of the child. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | |
| 18 | 18 | submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2025. | |
| 19 | 19 | The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | |
| 20 | 20 | proposition: "The constitutional amendment establishing the | |
| 21 | 21 | rights of parents to direct the upbringing of their children." |
