1412 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1513 SECTION 1. Article VIII, Texas Constitution, is amended by
16- adding Section 1-y to read as follows:
17- Sec. 1-y. (a) The legislature by general law may exempt
18- from ad valorem taxation the amount of the market value of real
19- property located in a county that borders the United Mexican States
20- that arises from the installation or construction on the property
21- of border security infrastructure and related improvements.
22- (b) The legislature by general law may define "border
23- security infrastructure" for the purposes of this section and may
24- prescribe additional eligibility requirements for the exemption
25- authorized by this section.
14+ adding Section 1-s to read as follows:
15+ Sec. 1-s. The legislature by general law may exempt from ad
16+ valorem taxation the portion of the assessed value of a person's
17+ property that is attributable to the installation or construction
18+ in or on the property of border security infrastructure and may
19+ provide additional eligibility requirements for the exemption.
2620 SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
2721 submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2025.
2822 The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
2923 proposition: "The constitutional amendment to authorize the
