77 A JOINT RESOLUTION
88 proposing a constitutional amendment relating to the determination
99 of a quorum of the senate or house of representatives.
1010 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Section 10, Article III, Texas Constitution, is
1212 amended to read as follows:
1313 Sec. 10. A majority [Two-thirds] of the members of each
1414 House of the Legislature shall constitute a quorum to do business,
1515 but a smaller number may adjourn from day to day, and compel the
1616 attendance of absent members, in such manner and under such
1717 penalties as each House may provide.
1818 SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
1919 submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2025.
2020 The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
2121 proposition: "The constitutional amendment to provide that a
2222 majority of the members of the senate or house of representatives of
2323 the Texas Legislature constitutes a quorum for that house to do
2424 business."
