10 | 10 | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Article XVI, Texas Constitution, is amended by | |
12 | 12 | adding Section 74 to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | Sec. 74. (a) This state shall observe daylight saving time | |
14 | 14 | year-round throughout the state. | |
15 | 15 | (b) This section applies to all portions of the state, | |
16 | 16 | regardless of time zone. | |
17 | 17 | (c) If a court finds this state is not authorized by federal | |
18 | 18 | law to implement this section, Subsections (a) and (b) of this | |
19 | 19 | section have full force and effect on the date the United States | |
20 | 20 | Congress enacts legislation that becomes law that authorizes this | |
21 | 21 | state to observe daylight saving time as prescribed by this | |
22 | 22 | section. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | |
24 | 24 | submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2025. | |
25 | 25 | The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | |
26 | 26 | proposition: "The constitutional amendment requiring this state to | |
27 | 27 | observe daylight saving time year-round." |
