77 A JOINT RESOLUTION
88 proposing a constitutional amendment to authorize the
99 commissioners court of a county to exempt from ad valorem taxation
1010 by each political subdivision that taxes the property the portion
1111 of the assessed value of a person's property that is attributable to
1212 the installation in or on the property of a rainwater harvesting or
1313 graywater system.
1414 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1515 SECTION 1. Article VIII, Texas Constitution, is amended by
1616 adding Section 1-u to read as follows:
1717 Sec. 1-u. The legislature by general law may authorize the
1818 commissioners court of a county to exempt from ad valorem taxation
1919 by each political subdivision that taxes the property the portion
2020 of the assessed value of a person's property that is attributable to
2121 the installation in or on the property of a rainwater harvesting or
2222 graywater system and may provide additional eligibility
2323 requirements for the exemption.
2424 SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
2525 submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2025.
2626 The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
2727 proposition: "The constitutional amendment to authorize the
2828 commissioners court of a county to exempt from ad valorem taxation
2929 by each political subdivision that taxes the property the portion
3030 of the assessed value of a person's property that is attributable to
3131 the installation in or on the property of a rainwater harvesting or
3232 graywater system."
