77 A JOINT RESOLUTION
88 proposing a constitutional amendment protecting the right to
99 produce meat and meat food products naturally derived from
1010 livestock.
1111 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Section 36(a), Article I, Texas Constitution, is
1313 amended to read as follows:
1414 (a) The people have the right to engage in generally
1515 accepted farm, ranch, timber production, horticulture, or wildlife
1616 management practices on real property they own or lease. The right
1717 to engage in ranching includes the right to produce meat and meat
1818 food products naturally derived from livestock.
1919 SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
2020 submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2025.
2121 The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
2222 proposition: "The constitutional amendment protecting the right to
2323 produce meat and meat food products naturally derived from
2424 livestock."
