10 | 12 | | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

11 | 13 | | SECTION 1. Article VIII, Texas Constitution, is amended by |

12 | 14 | | adding Section 1-s to read as follows: |

13 | 15 | | Sec. 1-s. (a) The legislature by general law may exempt |
---|
14 | 16 | | from ad valorem taxation tangible personal property consisting of |
---|
15 | 17 | | animal feed held by the owner of the property for sale at retail. |
---|
16 | 18 | | (b) The legislature by general law may provide additional |
---|
17 | 19 | | eligibility requirements for the exemption authorized by this |
---|
18 | 20 | | section. |
---|
19 | 21 | | SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |
---|
20 | 22 | | submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2025. |
---|
21 | 23 | | The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the |
---|
22 | 24 | | proposition: "The constitutional amendment authorizing the |
---|
23 | 25 | | legislature to exempt from ad valorem taxation tangible personal |
---|
24 | 26 | | property consisting of animal feed held by the owner of the property |
---|
25 | 27 | | for sale at retail." |
