| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Sarah Martinez of Memorial Elementary School has |

| 10 | 10 | | Elementary Teacher of the Year award; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A veteran teacher with 16 years of experience, Mrs. |

| 16 | 16 | | Martinez currently serves as the second-grade team leader at |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Memorial Elementary; she is a graduate of Plano Senior High School, |

| 18 | 18 | | and she earned a degree in elementary education from Abilene |

|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Sarah Martinez exemplifies the passion, |

| 21 | 21 | | determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |

| 22 | 22 | | best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all |

| 23 | 23 | | in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Sarah Martinez on her nomination |
