| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Amanda Leu of Hunt Elementary School has been |

| 9 | 9 | | nominated for the 2025 Plano Independent School District Elementary |

| 10 | 10 | | Teacher of the Year award; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Leu graduated from Plano Senior High School |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | before going on to earn her undergraduate degree from the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | University of North Texas; while in college, she volunteered with |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Communities In Schools and worked as a literacy tutor for three |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | years; an educator since 2018, she currently teaches third grade; |

| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Amanda Leu exemplifies the passion, determination, |

| 22 | 22 | | and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our best teachers, |

| 23 | 23 | | and she has set a standard of excellence to which all in her |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Amanda Leu on her nomination for |

| 27 | 27 | | the 2025 Plano Independent School District Elementary Teacher of |

| 28 | 28 | | the Year award and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
