| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Jeanette Newland of Barron Elementary School has |

| 9 | 9 | | been nominated for the 2025 Plano Independent School District |

| 10 | 10 | | Elementary Teacher of the Year award; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Currently a fifth-grade teacher, Ms. Newland has |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | enjoyed a rewarding career as an educator that has spanned more than |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | a decade, and she also has previous experience managing preschools |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and private schools; a Plano ISD alumnus, she holds an associate's |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | degree in business, a bachelor's degree in business with a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | concentration in human resource management, and a master's degree |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | in curriculum and instruction; in addition, she is a master reading |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | teacher; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Jeanette Newland exemplifies the passion, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Jeanette Newland on her nomination |

| 29 | 29 | | for the 2025 Plano Independent School District Elementary Teacher |
