| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Curra's Grill in Austin is marking the 30th |

| 9 | 9 | | anniversary of its establishment in 2025, and this occasion |

| 10 | 10 | | provides a welcome opportunity to recognize the restaurant and its |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | founders, the Garcia family; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, One of the first interior Mexican restaurants in the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | city, Curra's was founded in March 1995 by brothers Jorge and Marco |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Garcia, who had recently arrived in Austin from their hometown of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Nueva Rosita, Mexico; they were soon joined in the business by their |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | sister, Julie, and their parents, Marco and Julieta; the family |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | subsequently opened additional locations on Burnet Road and Parmer |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Lane, and they currently operate two restaurants, the original |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | location on Oltorf Street and a second in Hyde Park; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, In addition to celebrating the diverse culinary |

| 21 | 21 | | heritage of Mexico, Curra's has further contributed to the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | community by embracing sustainability, supporting local |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | initiatives, and providing meals during shutdowns caused by weather |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | and by the COVID-19 pandemic; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, During the past three decades, Curra's has gained a |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | loyal following, and members of the Garcia family may take pride in |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | the vital role they continue to play in the life of the Austin |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | community; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the 30th anniversary of Curra's |

| 31 | 31 | | Grill and extend to the Garcia family and their staff sincere best |

| 32 | 32 | | wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
