| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Cash Kociela passed away on September 24, 2024, at |

| 9 | 9 | | the age of nine, and memories of this vibrant and caring young boy |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | will forever endure in the hearts of those who knew and loved him; |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Born on January 22, 2015, Cash was the beloved son |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | of Alexa Grimland and Don Kociela, and he is greatly missed by his |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | sister, Taylor, with whom he loved to swim and ride bicycles around |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | the neighborhood; he grew into an energetic and naturally athletic |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | youngster who could outrun every child on the playground at his |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Montessori school, and he was guided through life by his |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | adventurous spirit and his desire to explore the world around him; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Accompanied by his best friend, Jace, Cash |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | fearlessly and playfully roamed his neighborhood, scaling fences |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and building makeshift forts; he loved animals, and he developed an |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | affinity for the outdoors at an early age; he greatly enjoyed |

| 24 | 24 | | playing basketball and going fishing with his grandfather, Larry |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Grimland; in addition, his compassionate nature and his willingness |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | to help others made him a cherished friend and readily endeared him |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | to both his peers and older generations; and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Although the tragic passing of Cash Kociela has |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | brought an incalculable loss to the many people who held him dear, |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | they may find comfort in knowing that their lives have been forever |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | enriched by the love, laughter, and joy that they shared with him; |

| 32 | 32 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 34 | 34 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Cash Kociela and |
