| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The San Antonio Fire Department Investigation Unit |

| 9 | 9 | | was named the 2025 Investigator of the Year by the International |

| 10 | 10 | | Association of Arson Investigators on April 15; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Each year, the IAAI recognizes a firefighter or fire |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | unit that has demonstrated exceptional expertise in both the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | criminal and civil fields of arson control; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Established in December 2020, the SAFD |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Investigation Unit collects critical evidence and data at the scene |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | of a fire, and its in-depth analysis of how the blaze started often |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | provides information that can help with future fire prevention; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | over the last four and a half years, the unit has investigated |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | nearly 2,000 fire incidents; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The members of the San Antonio Fire Department |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Investigation Unit have earned the respect and admiration of their |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | peers through their unyielding commitment to protecting the lives |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and property of their fellow citizens, and they are indeed |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | deserving of this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the San Antonio Fire Department |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Investigation Unit on being named the 2025 Investigator of the Year |

| 28 | 28 | | by the International Association of Arson Investigators and extend |
