No. 1027 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The Junior-Junior League of Galveston County is hosting its inaugural gala, the Primrose Ball, on May 3, 2025; and WHEREAS, An initiative of the Junior League of Galveston County, the Junior-Junior League is open to girls ages 13 to 18; the group provides members with opportunities for personal and professional development while placing an emphasis on community involvement, fellowship, and philanthropy; after experiencing a decline in enrollment in recent years, the chapter has grown to include more than 40 members; and WHEREAS, The Primrose Ball is the Junior-Junior League's first philanthropic gala, and it raises scholarship funds for deserving young women in Galveston County; the event was organized entirely by JJL members, who coordinated its decorations and refreshments and secured the historic Moody Mansion museum as its venue; and WHEREAS, The members of the Junior-Junior League have set an inspiring example of leadership and community engagement, and they are indeed deserving of special recognition for their efforts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas Legislature hereby commemorate the 2025 Junior-Junior League of Galveston County Primrose Ball and extend to all those associated with the organization sincere best wishes for a meaningful and memorable event; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the league as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
