| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Alexis Boehmer has distinguished herself in her |

| 9 | 9 | | responsibilities as a legislative aide in the office of State |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Representative Gene Wu during the 89th Legislative Session; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Boehmer has provided |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | including meeting with constituents and contributing to the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | office's budgetary process, and she has also tracked legislation |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and supported the representative's work on the Appropriations |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Committee; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | of public service, she has learned more about the legislative |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, A Hobby Fellow, Ms. Boehmer is currently a senior at |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the University of Houston, where she is a member of The Honors |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | College and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in psychology, and she |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | previously served as president of the campus mock trial |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | association; she has also held internships with the office of |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Houston Vice Mayor Pro Tempore Martha Castex-Tatum, the Harris |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | County Public Defender's Office, and the Harris County Department |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | of Economic Equity and Opportunity; upon graduation, she intends to |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | continue her studies at The University of Texas at Austin School of |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Law; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Alexis Boehmer has performed her duties as a |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is indeed |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, |

| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |

| 34 | 34 | | Legislature hereby commend Alexis Boehmer for her service as a |
