7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Texas Baptist Children's Home in Round Rock is |

8 | 9 | | marking the 75th anniversary of its founding in 2025, offering a |

9 | 10 | | fitting opportunity to recognize the organization's myriad |

10 | 11 | | contributions to the community; and |

11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Louis and Billie Sue Henna established Texas Baptist |
---|
12 | 13 | | Children's Home in 1950 to provide quality care for abused and |
---|
13 | 14 | | neglected children in Central Texas; the couple donated 112 acres |
---|
14 | 15 | | of land and several newly constructed buildings to the Baptist |
---|
15 | 16 | | General Convention of Texas, and over the years, the organization |
---|
16 | 17 | | has grown to encompass a range of initiatives that empower those in |
---|
17 | 18 | | need; and |
---|
18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Through its HOPE Counseling Program, TBCH provides |
---|
19 | 20 | | no-cost, trauma-informed counseling and education to Williamson |
---|
20 | 21 | | County residents at three locations; the nonprofit also offers the |
---|
21 | 22 | | Family Care Program, which helps participants achieve long-term |
---|
22 | 23 | | stability and take steps toward independent housing; in addition, |
---|
23 | 24 | | the initiative gives children the opportunity to engage with one |
---|
24 | 25 | | another and take part in camps, gym activities, and various special |
---|
25 | 26 | | events; and |
---|
26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, TBCH assists young adults through its Home Base |

27 | 28 | | Program, providing them with residential and support services, as |

28 | 29 | | well as through its Welcome HOME Program, which helps participants |

29 | 30 | | with personal development and community integration; moreover, its |

30 | 31 | | Aftercare Program offers former clients continued support, |

31 | 32 | | assisting with food, clothing, and scholarships; and |

32 | 33 | | WHEREAS, In 2024, TBCH received Best of Round Rock Awards in |

33 | 34 | | the best nonprofit focused on children and best experience for |

34 | 35 | | volunteers categories; it was also honored with the Central Texas |
---|
35 | 36 | | Community Foundation Impact Award for its unwavering commitment to |
---|
36 | 37 | | supporting children and families in Williamson County; and |

37 | 38 | | WHEREAS, For three quarters of a century, Texas Baptist |

38 | 39 | | Children's Home has rendered exceptional service to countless |

39 | 40 | | Texans in need, and the organization truly merits special |

40 | 41 | | recognition on the occasion of this milestone year; now, therefore, |

42 | 43 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
