| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The family and friends of Gilbert Edward Reinhard |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Jr. of Floresville suffered an immeasurable loss with his passing |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | on October 10, 2024, at the age of 75; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, The son of Edward and Dorothy Reinhard, Gil Reinhard |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | was born in Floresville on November 19, 1948, and raised in Poth |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | with his three siblings, Jack, Kim, and Lance; some of his favorite |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | childhood memories included family barbecues, trips to his mother's |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | mercantile store, and visits with his grandmother; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, After earning a bachelor's degree in chemistry from |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | St. Mary's University, Mr. Reinhard embarked on a successful |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 45-year career with EG&G Automotive Research, later PerkinElmer, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | where he worked as a chemist testing fuel samples; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Reinhard met his future wife, Celeste Marie |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Dumas, through work, and the couple's wedding on June 14, 1997, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | marked the beginning of a rewarding marriage that spanned 27 years; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | a loving father, Mr. Reinhard took great pride in their children, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Hannah and Gillian; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Inspired by summer trips to Rockport in his youth, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Mr. Reinhard maintained a deep love for the ocean throughout his |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | life, and he delighted in painting beautiful coastal landscapes and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | collecting artwork featuring lighthouses and seaside views; a pop |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | culture buff as well, he was knowledgeable about a wide variety of |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | media, ranging from classic films and old Westerns to Degrassi and |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Harry Potter, and his taste in music encompassed many unique genres |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | and artists, including his favorite band, the Beatles; and |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Known for his kind and generous nature, his goofy |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | sense of humor, and his unwavering devotion to his family, Gil |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | Reinhard brightened the world for all who knew him, and they will |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | forever hold him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Gilbert Edward |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | Reinhard Jr. and extend sincere sympathy to his relatives and |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | friends; and, be it further |

| 41 | 41 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

|---|
