| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Patricia Thompson celebrated a joyous milestone in |

| 8 | 9 | | her life on October 26, 2024, when she became a naturalized citizen |

| 9 | 10 | | of the United States of America; and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, "Trish" Thompson arrived in the U.S. from Canada as |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | an employee of the Dow Chemical Company in 2006, and she soon fell |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | in love with Texas and especially Brazoria County; within a few |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | weeks, she had become enamored with the natural beauty and sense of |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | community found on the Texas coast, and she went on to develop many |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | close friendships among her new neighbors; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, While in Texas, she met her future husband, Jeffery |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Thompson; the pair exchanged wedding vows in 2012, and she has |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | happily embraced her role as a stepmother to his two daughters; in |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | 2018, she accepted a position with MEGlobal, which allowed her to |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | support the company's operations in both Canada and the United |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | States, her adopted country; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Thompson began the process of applying for U.S. |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | citizenship in 2023 and completed her civics test on September 20, |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | 2024, just five days before her birthday; she became a naturalized |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | citizen on October 26 of that year, and she is being recognized for |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | this achievement on the occasion of Brazoria County Day at the State |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | Capitol on February 25, 2025; and |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | WHEREAS, A proud Texan by choice, Trish Thompson has made a |

| 29 | 30 | | new life for herself as an American citizen and a valued member of |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | the Brazoria County community, and it is a pleasure to join in |

| 31 | 32 | | honoring her for all that she has accomplished; now, therefore, be |
