| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Chapter of the American College |

| 8 | 9 | | of Physicians are gathering in Austin on February 19, 2025, for the |

| 9 | 10 | | organization's Advocacy Leadership Day at the State Capitol; and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Dedicated to promoting quality health care for all |

| 11 | 12 | | Texans, TXACP works to advance the field of internal medicine |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | through advocacy, education, and initiatives aimed at enhancing |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | patient care and medical standards in Texas; the organization |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | represents more than 8,000 physicians, residents, medical |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | students, and affiliate members and comprises two regions with |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | representative leadership throughout the state; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, TXACP Services supports and improves the practice of |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | internal medicine by addressing the scientific, economic, social, |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | and political aspects of medicine to maintain the highest standards |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | of patient care; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, The TXACP Foundation fosters knowledge and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | philanthropy that enhances health care in Texas by promoting |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | initiatives such as the General Internal Medicine Statewide |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | Preceptorship Program, which encourages students to enter the field |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | of internal medicine and supports residents in educational and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | scientific endeavors; and |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Chapter of the American College of |

| 28 | 29 | | Physicians has rendered exceptional service to internal medicine |

| 29 | 30 | | professionals across the state, and the organization's Advocacy |

| 30 | 31 | | Leadership Day provides an important opportunity to connect with |

| 31 | 32 | | fellow medical professionals, to learn about current legislative |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | issues impacting the field, and to engage with lawmakers about key |
